On 5 May, 10 new and returning Green councillors were elected to represent wards across the city and have been busy with new casework, campaigns, and committee work in their first month.
Edinburgh Council is winding down its political decision making prior to the pre-election period that starts on 14 April before the election on 5 May.
It’s Council budget setting time this month and we have proposed a ‘Green Group budget for Climate and Social Justice’.
As Edinburgh Council enters the new year, thoughts are beginning to turn to the upcoming Council budget and then the next Council election in May.
This month, all eyes were on COP26 in Glasgow with Green Councillors taking part in a variety of associated events, including the massive demonstration on Saturday 6th November.
Edinburgh Green Councillors led on the Climate Emergency at this month’s full Council meeting.
Councillors have been working to keep climate issues on the agenda in the run up to COP26
The Council has been in recess until 9 August and has resumed its meetings on-line. Claire Miller and Steve Burgess are taking their turn as Co-Convenors of the Green Group in the run up to the next Council election in May next year.
