Gavin Corbett was Green councillor for Fountainbridge-Craiglockhart from 2012 until November 2021 when he was appointed as a special advisor to the First Minister, working with Green ministers, Patrick Harvie and Lorna Slater in the Scottish Government.
Originally from Ayrshire, Gavin has lived in the area, with his family since 1991 and has been very active in the community over that time.
Alongside his councillor role he worked for housing charity Shelter Scotland for many years. At present he was city canal champion and worked with a number of neighbourhood projects on improvement activities.
